I was diagnosed in Jan 2007 during routine colonoscopy. Had 18 inches of colon removed and did 12 sessions of chemo with a Port installed and had 3 pet scans and I am still NED. My experience was a journey I hope to not do again but it was not as bad as my mind wanted me to believe.I decided that a positive attitude and full trust in God would be the best bet for me . Oh Yea , I did have a great medical team and my nurses were the best.I was never really very sick from chemo and I managed to sleep with "The Pump" and the port came out after the NED pet scan.I still have a little numbness in my feet/toes but I hardly notice it anymore and I feel blessed to be alive and Ned.Feel free to email me or call me if I can help you in any way ,860-668-0308. Steelers and Bucks through and through we are. Even when they take my blood to test they question why it is black and gold. Merry Christmast to you and your family.

Congrats Joe on your NED status after 5 years. The 5 years seems to be the number to strive for. I just recently became NED for the 3rd time and it came at a great time right next to the holidays :). I had my port taken out about 3 years ago when I was clean but unfortunately had to install a new one when the cancer came back a third time. Glad you are finished with chemo. Have a wonderful holiday Joe and I know your family is very blessed having you.
